#KANNAWIDAN 2015

The preservation of the great culture and artistic tradition are the number one objective of the Province of Ilocos Sur. As we celebrate the “Kannawidan” it also aims to unite all the people in Ilocos Sur to promote the true essence of “Panagsangsangkamaysa”.

The best of Ilocos Sur’s culture, tradition and tourist attractions are in the limelight again in the week-long celebration of Kannawidan Ylocos 2015, which starts on January 29.  As we celebrate the upcoming festivities, people are very excited for the showcase of the different industry products and agricultural. All Ilocanos are continuing preserving and maintaining the ancestral house, the rich culture and traditions. This unending support will lead to the conservation and development of the province and as well as the city.  This festival brings us lots of changes and innovation as Governor Ryan Luis V. Singson preferred it from week of activities and programs extending it to almost a month of celebration in order to have a longer time to enjoy and feel the spirit of the “ Kannawidan”.

We, Ilocanos should all be proud of with this because we are having this for tourist or either locat to appreciate our next culture and tradition. Moreover, let us all preserve these culture through the spirit of unity and for the next generation and this will serve as our trademark as an Ilocano. 

#REFLECTION

As a student, what are your plans or goals for this 3^rd grading period? What are your purposes? Is it Change? Or improve and do more utmost?

In everything that you wish to do, set a plan for it. Sacrifice and be strong to face whatever is the challenge that you will face. And you must learn from it.

Just like in the 3^rd grading period, I apply all what I have learned during the 1^st and 2^nd quarter. I strive my goals. I set myself to accept and solve those challenges like submitting our projects and creating more blogs. My only one point in this grading period is to develop my skills in manipulating the computer, making blogs. I’m not dreaming a higher grade for this period though I just want to complete the requirements.

And for the last grading period, I will put all my very best to continue reaching my goals in life. I will create and strive more goals to become the best better.

NEW YEAR NEW ME

                  Tik! Tak! Tik! Tak! As the clock reaches 12 in the midnight, the different fireworks start to blow-up and light-up the world for the celebration for the prosperous New Year. Full of enjoyment, happiness and love with their own family while shouting “HAPPY NEW YEAR” and saying “HELLO” 2015. 

                     New Things that will happen and New Hope that will embrace for many people. As the start of the year 2015, I started with a smile. Smile that last even though I have so many challenges that I have faced during the 2014. Challenges that strengthen myself, my courage and I never surrender for those thorns of life. I stand tall to fulfil my dreams in life.

                      And now, my new year’s resolution for this year is to have a healthy lifestyle and have a united happy family. For us, let us reinvent ourselves from the past. Let us start another life. Do more good things.  Let us learn from our mistakes during the past years.

               Today, as we count 5...4...3...2...1! Let us embrace the blessings and opportunities. Let us continue of what we have started. Let us reach our dreams. Let us leave the past, do more good things in the present and be always ready for the FUTURE!

ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS

         


               Have you ever woken up in the morning, bright and early to feel the cold breeze of the air? If you have, it must be Christmas! Christmas is the best, and my favorite holiday! It is so thrilling to wake up in the morning and see lots of exceptional presents, dying to be opened. Above the presents stands the tree, tall and sparkling lights. But, one thing that is not clear to me is the through essence of Christmas. What is it?
  

            Christmas is best enjoyed when it isn't centered on decorations, gifts, or festivities, but when love is at its core. Love is the essence of Christmas. Christmas is the time for giving and sharing. It is the time for spreading and sharing love to one another. It should mean taking quality time with your family and friends. It's about cherishing and celebrating the love you share.

            Every year I have a great Christmas spending valuable time with family and friends. We celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Giving importance to the day He was born. Everyone is enjoying this kind of special day. They prepare for their selves. When the midnight comes, everyone is busy preparing for the Noche Buena. They cook some foods and sweats. They wrapped special gifts. Until the clock reaches 12, everyone enjoys sharing their love to their families, friends and love ones. They were so glad in celebrating the Christmas Day.

            After all, love is the best gift to share. Love that will never ends. That’s Christmas. That’s Love. 

OUTPOURING HEARTS AND MINDS THROUGH LITERACY AND ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

One thing you must show to the world is yourself. That is to express yourself thoughts, your feelings. Is heart and mind are the number one keys to be an expressive person through literacy and English proficiency?

English is fast becoming the dominant means by which the world is able to communicate. It is being referred to as the global language as it is seen as a common means for interaction between different countries. This new phenomena can be seen in a positive light because the use of English as a common language brings efficiency and greater understanding. Growth and development are not tolerant of differences and English becomes a means for international expansion.

People’s ability to survive is strongly linked to their ability to communicate in English. People focus on learning English over learning other languages and also in many cases need to use their individual languages to a lesser degree.

Essentially language matters as it is more than merely a communication device. Language is not only linked to culture but through the use of literature is able to express our thoughts, our opinions and feelings. Today, be free of what you know and what your heart and mind have. Don’t be afraid. Express Yourself!

CLIMATE CHANGE

 Homes, towns, cities, states, nations, and countries around the world are all addressing the issue of global climate change. Individuals are beginning to realize the importance of greenhouse gas emissions and keeping our environment clean. Towns and cities are implementing new conservation programs, energy saving incentives, and many other environment-friendly initiatives. We are all part of it. We are all affected

Climate change is partially caused by the natural cycles of Earth; humans are still a major part of it. Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, absorb and emit heat in the atmosphere, keeping Earth warm enough to support life. However, human activities, such as burning fossil fuels, are adding large amounts of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. More greenhouse gases mean that more heat is being held in the atmosphere, which in turn makes temperatures higher. All the greenhouse gases people have added to the atmosphere are making temperatures rise faster than they are supposed to, which will cause a multitude of problems that will offset the balance of the global ecosystem.

 Measures to stop climate change need to be taken now, because we will experience its effects during our lifetimes. Since it has not affected us very much yet, not very many people are aware of it. We need to raise awareness now, because once we see its effects, it will be too late. We still have time.

Climate change, with its potential to impact every corner of the world, is an issue that must be addressed by the world. Global climate change is something that needs to be addressed, and the sooner the better.
